The last pic is one taken at last year’s home opener for the UAB Blazers and the first two were taken this past Saturday.
My observations?
1) Mere’s new camera has much less suck than her old one.
2) The crowd looked bigger for this year’s home opener.
3) I look pre-pubescent without facial hair when I’m wearing a hat.
4) I think my wife’s face is thinner after she gave birth to our child, how awesome is that?!

Oh, and
5)My baby is cute as hell….

Sorry I didn’t see you there this weekend. I was up in the press box the whole time. Nothing worth reporting except free food rocks!

Congrats on the baby and go Blazers. Cheer for me as they kick UCF’s ass. I wish the game were here so I could see my Blazers in person.

Figured I’d respond over here since you weren’t likely to go back and check the comments on my blog:
I graduated from UAB and pull for the team, but they weren’t even D-1 when I started going to school there…they barely had a team when I started there, they were probably D2 when I started.
I grew up in an Alabama family, so I was pretty much hooked from birth. The first sporting even I ever attended was an Iron Bowl, and that made a powerful impression on my then 7 or 8 year old mind. My dad went to his first Bama game in the mid-1940s (a good 10-15 years before Bear Bryant arrived) so I know he wasn’t a bandwagon hopper.
That being said, I do have a deep love for UAB sports. I went to every home soccer game for over a decade and saw a good bit of basketball and football too.
I just hope they never meet in football, because I don’t want to have to pull against UAB.

“Mere’s new camera has much less suck than her old one.”
Ahh, yes, but the new one doesn’t compress to the size of a credit card and fit inside of a Dentyne Ice package to be snuck into concerts, now does it?
