or why I should hurry up and call a tree company…

This was waiting for me when i got home yesterday:

Bent my neighbor’s fence…

Pretty green, huh?

Where it came from…

as (almost) always, you can click the pictures for HUGE versions

Can anyone recommend a tree company to use (or not use if they screwed ya)?

I feel MUCH better now.

The head of my department at work took us all to Superior Grill last night. I ordered the most delicious (and most expensive) steak fajitas for myself, a margarita to start off with, and a beer to finish it all off. It was most nice, especially since I wasn’t paying for any of it :) .

However, something I ate didn’t sit right with me. The fajitas were tasty, but the margarita was way too sweet (think Rose’s Lime Juice w/ a splash of tequila, rather tequila gimlet-like, if there is such a thing), and the beer was rather skunky. Whatever the cause, I felt like someone hooked up an air compressor to my stomach and was constantly filling me up. I felt like I was exploding from the inside.
I’ve never had indigestion that bad in my life! Thankfully Brandi had a good bit of help last night (Mere, and my Mom were at the house), so I went to bed around 8:30 PM.

Wow, I feel <DR.EVIL>ONE MILLION</DR.EVIL> times better this morning…. Except for that whole branch falling out of my tree thing (I’ll get to that later)…

So some jackass (or jackasses) managed to scare a majority of the northwestern portion of the state of Alabama into thinking that there would be a strike by truck drivers, which would result in major gas shortages (and technically shortages of everything else since if you can touch it, and it’s not alive, it came on a truck).

News story here. It has all of the stuff you’d expect, long lines, 55 gallon drums being filled with gas (seriously, this guy was on the 10PM news last night spending upwards of $1200 on gas). In my opinion, if there truly is a trucker strike, gas will be the least of my worries. I think I’d start with food.

A quick Google News search shows that this seems to be limited to northwestern Alabama…. odd.

EDIT: I’ve been getting tons of search engine hits from this article (in fact, I’m the first result when searching for Alabama Gas Shortages @ MSN Search). Just keep in mind that this article was originally posted on August 18th 2005

Half-Nekkid, Fully Exhausted…

Half Nekkid, Fully Exhausted
Tell me, wise one…. What be the secret to the sleepless infant?

That’s what my mom just said her uncle used to tell her….

I find that hilarious for some reason…

She told me that while we were talking about how much my grandmother (and her mother-in-law) wants us to bring our infant up the the nursing home to visit her.

*BTW, I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that my grandmother doesn’t know how to find this website* (for my mother’s sake at least)
