Poor Nate.
You look like crap, but in a hot way.
If I were there, I’d take her long enough for the two of you to get some sleep.
Give her to Mere. Mere can totally keep her alive for 8 hours or so.
Let it sleep in the bed between you for a while, that will build its confidence level in its new surroundings and then you start transitioning it to the crib after its asleep.
Nate, take it from me, a kid who slept with her parents EVERY SINGLE NIGHT UNTIL SHE WAS LIKE, 12: DO NOT START THE SLEEPING-IN-THE-BED-WITH-YOU THING. True, I don’t know jack about children, but as a former child myself, I can tell you that even if you have the heart to kick “it” out of your bed, “it” will be miserable.
I have to disagree, Kel. My son slept in the bed with us until he it was around 2 years old and then we moved him it to his it’s own bed. The one constant you’ll learn as a parent is there is no constant. Every child is different in how it reacts to certain situations. You just have to be a parent and let them know that that’s how it’s gonna be and be firm on that. You really can semi-rationalize with a two year old.
Okay, I didn’t even know you were taking this pic, but I have to say you look incredibly hot:) (Good thing you didn’t try to pull that look off by taking pics of me this a.m.!)
Have already bought co-sleeper online.
Was trying to surreptitiously purchase a special positioner also, using PayPal funds so it wouldn’t show up on my credit card ledger!!! Ha!
You’re probably right, Rush. In all fairness, I was an exceedingly difficult little girl.
(I am currently an exceedingly difficult grown-up girl.)
And I have a Chihuahua who is, on a regular basis, described (at worst) as “a terror” and (at best) as “not a good citizen,” so what do I know about rearing babies?
haha, didn’t claim to be an expert myself! But I know this method doesn’t work for a lot of people and it did work with my son, so I put all the praise on him (it) as an individual and not so much on me as a parent.
just my two cents, BTW HAPPY HNT!, let the baby sleep between you, the body heat will help keep the baby warm, unlike the crib mattress… Also, depending on how old the baby is {usually older than 3 months}, if bottle fed, spike with rice cereal {knowledge coming from mom of 5}.

Yes, we used rice cereal with my son. It keeps them more full (so they are less likely to wake out of hunger) than regular formula.
